




Anna has been studying and practicing yoga for 20 years and has been teaching since 1999. She holds the highest level of certification by the Yoga Alliance The Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 and she also holds a B. A. in Modern Dance which she gained from Mills College in California. Anna's teaching style is classical in essence and blends both an appreciation for alignment with a love for movement. She teaches with a steady, upbeat and methodical approach to asana practice that encourages introspection and contemplation as well as having fun. Anna regularly leads retreats and trainings in the UK as well as in the US, and Europe, and is one of the key teachers of the triyogaâ„¢ teacher training programme.
Anna's classes can be challenging but her playful sense of fun makes them feel truly joyful. No two classes are ever the same as she constantly re-invents new ways for her students to experience the poses; exposing the layers and un-peeling them to reveal the essence. I always leave her classes with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart.
Anna lives and breathes yoga, but not at the expense of a robust sense of humour and a warm, generous spirit which sees the potential in everybody, and every body. She'll gently escort you just outside the limits of what you think you can do, surprising you in the process, and is as thorough in her teaching as a skilled engineer whose favourite machine is the human body.
Practising yoga with Anna is a delight and an adventure. Her wide experience and deep knowledge as a yoga teacher shows in everything she is and does in a class, the effect is revitalising from toe to top. Somehow Anna has the knack of being able to explain how to do something as well as how it feels when it is done right.
Anna is an incredibly skilled, warm and compassionate teacher. She is undoubtedly one of the very best teachers around. Her classes are fun and always full, yet at the same time there's a special spirit in every class. I don't know anyone who has been to her classes who doesn't feel the same.
Anna is the reason I started Yoga and one of the reasons I continue to do it. Her compassion, attention to detail, good humour and above all the way she 'lives' yoga make her one of the best teachers I have ever had.
